Hello wonderful Bowhausers! My name is Tara and I am the operations manager for Bowhaus. This was only supposed to be a temporary job while I finished school, but I just celebrated my 13th year here! I graduated from Metropolitan State University of Denver in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice. After graduating I just couldn’t leave Bowhaus. Being around and taking care of your wonderful pups as though they were my own has been one of the most rewarding jobs I have ever had and has really been a dream job.
I got my start with Bowhaus as a client. I had a crazy 6-month-old Jack Russell terrier named Maddy who needed an energy outlet. I came across a newspaper ad for a doggy daycare service in Lafayette called the Critter Nanny. I sent Maddy for her first day and I couldn’t believe it when she came home worn out! I loved it! The Critter Nanny sold their business to Dan Nicholson and he moved the business to his home a few miles away and renamed it Bowhaus.
I joined Bowhaus in June 2005 just before we opened the Erie location and haven’t looked back! I currently have two dogs, a 15-year-old beagle border collie mix named Kekahi, which means “The One” in Hawaiian and a 12-year-old Jack Russell named Myles.
I am a Colorado-native, born in Boulder, and I love living in this beautiful state. When I’m not working I am usually out spending time with my dogs or catching a Rockies baseball game. I am so grateful for the relationships I have formed over the years with our clients and also to have been able to take care of your wonderful pups all these years! Also, thanks to our wonderful team! They all have such a true passion and love for your pups, and without them, Bowhaus would not be where we are today!
