Daycare Requirements

In order for your four-legged friend to enjoy a day of play, you first must register them online or call to make a reservation, ensure proof of current vaccinations for Rabies, Bordatella, Distemper-Parvo, and the Canine Flu. All dogs over 12 months of age must be spayed/neutered to participate in doggie daycare. For the safety of all our guests we do not accept dogs with a history of aggression. All dogs who wish to board or attend dog daycare at Bowhaus must go through a trial day, which allows us to get to know your dog and make sure they socialize well with others so that we can provide the best possible environment for your pup!

Reservations

We thank you for your interest in our daycare services! We humbly request that all of our daycare guests have a reservation! This ensures that we are not understaffed, so that way we can properly monitor your fur babies for the duration of their stay. Thank you for your understanding!

Trial Day - Only $20

Want to ensure your dog would enjoy daycare? Give them a trial run! We suggest bringing your dog in at 7 AM for a smooth, easy entry into our playpark and picking them up after 4pm for them to adjust to our kennels. This is the perfect way to see if daycare is the right fit for them!

Why is a trial day required?

The purpose of the Trial Day is for us to get to know your dog, for them to get to know us, and for all of us to be sure it’s a good fit. This day of daycare also helps a dog know that, if they are boarded, they are not being abandoned at an unfamiliar place, but will be picked up by their human eventually.

Daycare FAQs

Are dogs seperated by their size or temperament?

This depends! At our Boulder location, we have a fun place called Tiny Town where smaller, older, or more shy dogs can play that is separate from our downstairs play areas. For our Erie location, because of our 14,000 square foot yard, big and little dogs alike have plenty of room to play together, and we find this beneficial to their socialization.

What does a typical day look like for daycare guests, trial day dogs, as well as puppies?

At Bowhaus, we believe in making the most of your canines’ day of play! From 7am to 3pm, your four-legged friend is able to romp around and play with their fur-iends! At 3pm, we’ll place your dog into a size-appropriate crate or pen until they are picked up. We do provide lunch and nap time from 11am-1pm for those who brought food or need a rest break. All trial day dogs will be brought in for a lunch time rest and given a fresh bowl of water. Throughout the duration of their daycare, our staff will provide training to the guests by reinforcing positive behaviors. This creates a better social environment for the group and makes a better experience for everyone overall!

The only time your pup would not be able to enjoy an entire day of play is due to illness or serious behavioral issues.

What precautions do you take to avoid dogs being aggressive or barking incessantly?

It’s our mission to ensure your canine companion’s safety! We believe in providing a safe and fun space where your dog can play with others. However, when any of our guests do have behavioral issues, we believe in training the dogs and providing positive reinforcement. If there is a need for corrective methods, we may use squirt bottles, calming walks, verbal commands and corrections, body blocking to separate dogs, and gentle re-directions. For the extreme barking cases, we may use citronella barking collars to ease their discomfort.

Do I need to provide anything for my dog during their stay?

All we need is your fur baby for the day of play! However, if you’d like for your canine companion to have lunch or a snack, we ask that you please provide the food inside an airtight container with their name on it. We’ll make sure they get fed during our lunch time hour at no extra charge. We no longer allow collars in play group or while boarding. All collars come off when they enter building. If they are boarding they will receive a paper collar with their identification.

My baby girl absolutely loves going here for daycare. She's always very happy to go inside and is all smiles when I pick her up. I love the pictures that the staff take of her during the day and I love getting the report card afterward. Thank you for taking such good care of my little girl, Bowhaus! You guys are the best.

I haven't even picked my dog up yet from his daycare visit today and I can definitely say I will be coming back! I always get stressed about leaving my dog with people since I have no family that lives out here. I love that you can watch all the dogs on webcam, it makes me feel very at ease about leaving my dog!! They got me in without even having a 24-hour notice!

My two dogs had a great time at Bowhaus. They were exhausted after 1 day of daycare. They were quick to respond when I inquired about a trial day and we were able to go the next day! I love being able to check in on the webcams. You can tell the employees care about the dogs with how they interact with them. This is definitely a safe space for your dogs to stay and play. We will definitely be going back!
